Trenchless Pipe Lining Methods

Trenchless Pipe Lining Methods

Trenchless pipe lining in Kansas City, MO, is a preferred sewer repair method among local plumbers and homeowners, and for good reason. Not only does it save time and money, but it also avoids the hassles associated with excavation work.

Like any sewer pipe restoration project, the team at Inception Plumbing needs to perform a thorough inspection first. We insert a high-definition camera into the pipe to look for cracks, holes, and other damage. Once we identify any issues, we may recommend any of the following methods.

1.  Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Lining

CIPP pipe lining refers to creating a new pipe within the old pipe. It works by inserting a resin-saturated liner into your existing pipe, which then expands and cures into place. As a result, it covers all the leaks, gaps, and other flaws in the pipeline. While CIPP lining lasts for decades, they reduce the diameter of sewer lines. That said, they are usually ideal for wider pipes that only have minor or isolated damage.

2.  Slip Lining

Slip lining is the oldest form of trenchless pipe repair. In this method, we pull a smaller diameter HDPE pipe into an existing pipe, then seal the gaps with grout. Like CIPP lining, it may decrease the diameter of your sewer lines.

3.  Pipe Bursting

Pipe bursting is a trenchless sewer repair method in which we fracture the old, damaged pipe with a bursting head. The bursting head travels through the sewer line while pulling a new pipe that immediately replaces the busted pipe. Pipe bursting is a safer and more cost-effective alternative to sewer line replacement because it only takes a day to finish the project, and it keeps your surroundings intact.
